Diggerland Kent

A Family Sunday afternoon Diggerland | Partially re-opened yesterday, on Saturday 11 July

Diggerland is an adventure theme park experience. As the name suggests you can ride, drive and operate REAL diggers, dumpers and other full- size construction machinery.

Okay, so when we first pulled up into the industrial site, I must admit, Ade and I looked at each other and was like ‘What on earth is this!’. Don’t worry, it all changed when we walked in! Don’t judge a book by it cover and all that!

Today was our first time here, while there have been a few changes to ensure safety during COVID, we cannot comment on the differences. We can, however, say we had a great time there, it was positively simple, no excessive queues and chilled and that’s what we like sometimes.

When we arrived, we had a quick non-invasive temperature check to ensure we were okay to enter, which was a little different as Avery and Levi generally do not have to do this- but that’s not an issue!

Alright, so the rides and drives are determined by height. The park is aimed at children between 4 and 14 years of age; however, Avery, who just turned two thoroughly enjoyed himself. If your 90 cm+, you can go on at least 75% of the rides/drives- which is excellent. Avery is just under so he was only eligible for 9 out of the 20 rides/ drives, but he is FREE. Although he is suitable for nine, only eight were in working order, and I didn’t see the Safari SUV ride, but that might have just been me. Hubby enjoyed the ‘Spindizzy’ ride alone, but I think his head was spinning afterwards. This would be a good time to mention that you do require a face mask on some of the rides/ drives. I think you should allow 3 – 4 hours depending on how many rides/ drives you plan on going on. All in all, we had a fantastic family Sunday and as always made beautiful memories. Also, it is pretty cool that Avery gets to say he has ridden full-size construction machinery.

Yes, we will be back when Avery and Levi are both above 90 cm- it’s so close to us, it’s a no brainer- plus we all had so much fun! I would recommend it, especially now given the ques are non-existent.

Our visit took place during the COVID pandemic, on Sunday 12 July 2020, the information was correct as of the time of writing.
