Hey, guys! So, I wanted to share our family trip to Berlin with you. It was our first time in the city, but hubby and I have been to Germany before. We flew from London Stansted to Berlin Brandenburg Airport, which was super easy and cost us each just £39 return. We stayed at the 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin, which had a fun jungle theme and amazing views of the zoo and the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. The rooms were spacious and comfy, and the staff were really cool and helpful.
We got ourselves a Berlin Card WelcomeCard, which gave us access to public transport and discounts on loads of attractions. We usually rent a car when we travel, but trust me, you don’t need one in Berlin. The public transport system is fab and easy to use.
Now, let’s talk about the fun stuff – family attractions! We checked out ANOHA – The Children’s World of the Jewish Museum Berlin, which was totally free, but you need to book in advance if you want to go. It was such a cool experience and an absolute must-see. We also visited Zoo Berlin, which is the oldest zoo in Germany and has over 20,000 animals. The polar bear exhibit was a highlight for us. Aquarium Berlin is right next door, and it’s totally worth a visit if you’re into marine life. We also went to Tierpark Berlin, which is a huge park and zoo with loads of animals. And finally, we checked out the German Museum of Technology, which is the largest science and technology museum in Germany.
Now, let’s talk food. We ate at some amazing places in Berlin, but our top picks were NENI Berlin for their Middle Eastern and Mediterranean-inspired dishes and L’Osteria for their giant pizzas; let’s say their pizzas will devour you (half a pizza is sufficient for an adult, a word is enough for the wise). YUM!
Here are some tips if you’re planning a family trip to Berlin. Make sure you book attractions in advance, as many require it. Use public transport – it’s cheap and easy. And take advantage of discounts with the Berlin Card WelcomeCard.
Overall, we had a blast in Berlin and can’t wait to go back. If you’re looking for a fun and family-friendly city break, Berlin is definitely worth checking out.
