May Bank Holidays are just around the corner, and if you’re like me, you’re probably starting to think about a family break. My family and I recently visited The Mole Resort in North Devon for an Egg-cellent Easter Staycation, and it was a fantastic experience. I’m excited to share all the details with you, so if you’re looking for the perfect UK countryside staycation for your family, keep reading!

The Mole Resort is a newly built resort that boasts 15 three- and four-bedroom luxury eco-lodges. We stayed in one of the three-bedroom eco-lodges, and it was fantastic! The lodge was spacious, modern, and beautifully decorated. The best part? It was fully equipped with all the amenities you could possibly need, including a hot tub!

One of the things I loved about the lodge was the bi-folding doors that opened onto a large patio. The patio was the entire length of the lodge, making it perfect for entertaining, especially during the warmer months. The bedrooms also had sliding doors that opened onto the patio, meaning the lodge was filled with natural light for most of our stay. Each room could easily split into two single beds, making it perfect for families or groups of friends travelling together.
We chose The Mole Resort for our Easter break because we wanted a self-catering option with a full kitchen. The lodge did not disappoint! The kitchen was fully equipped with everything needed, including a BBQ outside for alfresco dining. We were also welcomed with a lovely hamper that included freshly baked bread, eggs, sausages, bacon, milk, honey, and more. It was the perfect way to start our stay!
We didn’t need to leave the resort as many activities kept us busy. The Mole Resort hosted an Easter Egg Hunt, and Exmoor Zoo hosted an onsite petting zoo. Our boys loved both activities! Additionally, we had access to several activities on the Highbullen Estate, including an indoor swimming pool, gym and classes, tennis, cycling, football, and more.

If you want to explore outside the resort, The Mole Resort is ideally located. Westward Ho! Beach is just a 45-minute car journey drive away, perfect for the little ones to explore the sand, sea, pebbles, and grassland, and it is also a popular spot for surfers and swimmers. Half an hour away, you’ll find Exmoor Zoo, where the young ones and the young at heart can become immersed in the wildlife. Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks are also within easy reach.
Overall, our Easter staycation at The Mole Resort was a fantastic experience, and I highly recommend it for families, couples, and groups of friends looking for a UK countryside staycation. With luxury lodges, great amenities, and plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained, you won’t be disappointed. So, what are you waiting for? Book your stay now and make unforgettable memories with your loved ones!
