Leeds Castle, the Loveliest Castle in the World‎

Today we were exploring the Grounds and Princess Alexandra Gardens at Leeds Castle, which partially reopened on 25th June.

Right from the beginning, when the most stunning peacock welcomed us, we knew we were going to like here (*Annie voice*). To be honest, we were so warmly welcomed right from the moment we drove up by security! Every member of staff we came in contact with was on hand and lovely.

The grounds are massive, and they operate on a one-way system like most places do now.

Avery loved the bamboo in the Oriental Garden, giving you that ‘Englishmen’s Oriental Garden’ feel. We spent our time rolling down the steep hills, admiring the beautiful castle from the outside, sitting by the lake with ducks enjoying pure serenity. This is a fantastic day for anyone and everyone. When we were there, a lot of attractions were closed; however, since then, a lot has now reopened- further details can be found in the ‘What’s open now, and what will open later to reduce the COVID spread?’ section below.

Other information

Would we come back?

YES. I could quite literally go back tomorrow. Princess Alexandra Gardens was one of the most peaceful walks we’ve been on—such tranquility. The grounds are beautiful from the offset. I’m itching for the events to kick off again so we can return. In the meantime, Hubby and I may need to return for the Segway tour- now that looks amazing

If you’re feeling adventurous, there is also a Go Ape on site. They have Treetop Adventures for ages four up to adults. So, there is something for everyone.

We visited on Friday, 26 June 2020; the above information is correct as of that date.
